The Richmond African American Book Festival is a great way to discover new black authors and learn more about your favorites. Happening April 10th and 11th, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event is free to attend and features:

• Publisher exhibits
• Author discussions
• Book signings

And tons of other ways to connect with some of the best Black authors on the scene. There will also be photo opportunities, door prizes, and other entertainment throughout the weekend. If you love reading and want to discover more amazing authors from the Black community, this event is a must.

The Bizarre Bazaar Spring Market - Richmond, VA

There's no better place to do your spring shopping than The Bizarre Bazaar Spring Market. Now in its 34th year, this Richmond institution features vendors, makers, and exhibitors from all over the country, selling everything from designer clothes to handmade jewelry - plus gourmet food, bridal and baby shower gifts, and much more. The market comprises two buildings, plus an outdoor area for gardening supplies, garden art, and perennials. Happening April 10-12, tickets are $9, or $14 for Early Bird admission on Friday morning.

This year is the 90th anniversary of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. To celebrate, why not check out See Yourself Here: VMFA Community Celebration? Happening Sunday, April 12th, 1-4 p.m. at the museum, the event features:

• Interactive exhibits
• Gallery tours
• Food trucks

As well as live performances like The Outcasts Big Band and hip-hop line dancing from Kemel Patton. Plus a variety of activities for all ages, such as building a tower out of paper straws, and an opportunity to share your story of what VMFA means to you. The event is free to attend, with museum structure parking available for $6.

Spring Artisan Market - Richmond, VA

Come to the Hardywood Park Craft Brewery for their 5th annual Spring Artisan Market! Happening Sunday, April 19th, noon-5 p.m., there will be artists and makers of all types, selling things like:

• Woodworking

Plus food, beer, and cocktails. Held in the Hardywood Barrel Room, the event is free to attend and a great way to meet your neighbors and discover cool local art in a relaxed, casual environment.
